Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, addressed a distribution program in Tripura via video conference, where over 2,800 appointment letters were handed out to newly recruited government employees. This event marked a significant milestone in the state’s employment process, ensuring job opportunities are provided with complete transparency and fairness, free from political favoritism or corruption. Shri Shah praised Tripura’s Chief Minister, Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, for his commitment to providing equal opportunities to the youth, emphasizing that these appointments symbolize a fresh start for 2,807 individuals who are now part of Tripura’s development journey.
Highlighting the transformation of Tripura and the Northeast under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Shri Shah noted that the region, once troubled by insurgency, blockades, and ethnic tensions, is now recognized for its progress in infrastructure, education, and investment. Over the past decade, Union ministers have visited the Northeast more than 700 times, reflecting the government’s dedication to its development. He underscored that Tripura has moved towards participation rather than distraction, speed instead of obstruction, and welfare over delay, making it an emerging center of growth and stability.
A key aspect of Tripura’s transformation has been the successful peace initiatives undertaken by the Modi government. Shri Shah highlighted three major agreements in the past ten years aimed at bringing lasting peace to the state. He acknowledged the government’s efforts in rehabilitating the Bru-Reang community by providing them with permanent residency, education, healthcare, and employment opportunities. He further noted that all insurgent groups in Tripura have either surrendered or joined the mainstream, marking a significant shift towards stability and peace.
Shri Shah credited the efforts of former Chief Minister Biplab Deb and the current leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha for accelerating the state’s growth. He pointed out that in just seven years of their government, Tripura has witnessed more progress than in previous decades. The state’s transformation from a landlocked to a land-linked region has been a major achievement, made possible through investments in airports, roads, irrigation, and water conservation projects. He emphasized that the most notable success of the government has been the elimination of corruption and unrest, paving the way for sustainable development.
The Home Minister reaffirmed that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Government of India remain fully committed to Tripura’s growth and prosperity. The distribution of appointment letters is not just about providing jobs but symbolizes the government’s dedication to empowering the people of Tripura, ensuring that the youth contribute to the state’s progress while securing a stable future for themselves.
