India Bans Pakistan Airlines from Airspace Amid Rising Tensions After Pahalgam Attack

U.S. Calls for Calm
The United States urged both India and Pakistan to avoid further escalation. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. In a statement, State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said Rubio reaffirmed U.S. support for India’s fight against terrorism and encouraged both sides to prioritise regional peace and stability.
