IMD Issues Rain Alerts for Mumbai, Himachal, and Jharkhand
After a night of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, Mumbai woke up to lighter showers and calmer skies on Sunday. However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded fresh alerts for multiple regions, including parts of Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, and Jharkhand.
Yellow Alert for Mumbai, Orange for Neighbouring Districts
The weather department issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, warning of isolated heavy showers. Simultaneously, an orange alert was sounded for Thane, Raigad, and Palghar, where very heavy rainfall is expected.
According to civic officials, Mumbai recorded:

Encouragingly, no major waterlogging incidents were reported, offering temporary relief to daily commuters.
Thunderstorm Alerts for Himachal Pradesh
The Shimla Meteorological Centre issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (40–60 kmph) in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan, and Sirmaur from Sunday to Wednesday.
Further, districts like Una, Bilaspur, and Hamirpur will see similar warnings on Monday and Wednesday.
Southwest Monsoon Expected in Jharkhand (June 17–19)
According to the IMD, the southwest monsoon is likely to reach Jharkhand between June 17 and 19, bringing widespread rainfall.
The department issued:

Tides and Travel Advisory for Mumbai
