Cabinet Reshuffle: Chandrashekhar Appointed, 38 ADGs Named
R.A. Chandrashekhar, 1991-batch IPS officer from the Kerala cadre, has been appointed as Secretary (Security) in the Cabinet Secretariat. The announcement came from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Chandrashekhar currently holds the position of Special Director in the Intelligence Bureau. He will take charge on or after August 1, 2025.
Harinath Mishra, a 1990-batch IPS officer, will be succeeded by Chandrashekhar. Mishra had assumed office in November 2024.

The official order reads:
“Shri R.A. Chandra Sekhar, IPS(KL:1991), Special Director, Intelligence Bureau is appointed as Secretary (Security) in the Cabinet Secretariat from August 1, 2025, or earlier upon assumption of charge.”
38 IPS Officers Promoted as ADGs
The Cabinet has cleared the promotion of 38 IPS officers to the post of Additional Director General of Police (ADG). These officers will take up their roles at the Centre.
