Israel Strikes Iran’s Key Nuclear, Missile Sites

RR Team, June 17, 2025June 19, 2025

Strikes on Nuclear and Missile Infrastructure

On June 17, 2025, Israel launched a series of airstrikes across Iran, targeting strategic nuclear and military installations as part of its operation, “Rising Lion.” The campaign has entered its fifth day and has already inflicted visible damage on key Iranian facilities.

Among the targeted sites are:

  • Isfahan Nuclear Technology Center
  • Natanz Nuclear Facility
  • Shiraz Missile Production Complex
  • Tabriz North Missile Base
  • Piranshahr Military Facility

Isfahan: Major Damage at Research Hub

The Isfahan facility, one of Iran’s most advanced nuclear research centers, suffered significant structural damage. The IAEA confirmed four critical buildings were affected, raising international concerns over possible radiation leaks.

Natanz: Core Uranium Plant Attacked

At Natanz, Iran’s main uranium enrichment site, satellite visuals and IAEA analysis suggest underground centrifuge halls may have been “severely damaged or destroyed.” The attack jeopardizes Iran’s nuclear fuel production capabilities.

Shiraz and Tabriz Missile Sites Hit

The Shiraz missile facility, responsible for manufacturing and storing ballistic weapons, was also struck, along with nearby electronics workshops. Similarly, the Tabriz North missile base, a major production center for ballistic missiles, was visibly damaged, according to Planet Labs satellite imagery.

Piranshahr and Other Targets

Located near Iran’s western border, the Piranshahr site was identified as a military warehouse. Israel also reportedly attacked Kermanshah, Bid Kaneh, and Shahid Modarres rocket production garrisons. However, Iran’s Fordow and Arak nuclear sites remain untouched—for now.

Escalation: Over 240 Killed in 5 Days

As the conflict intensifies, the death toll is mounting. Over 220 fatalities in Iran and 24 in Israel have been confirmed due to ongoing missile and drone attacks exchanged by both nations. The Iranian government has vowed to retaliate, while Israel has warned of further large-scale operations.

Global Concern and IAEA Response

The IAEA expressed serious concern about potential contamination risks and the safety of nuclear materials amid this conflict. Meanwhile, the UN and several world powers have called for urgent de-escalation to prevent a wider Middle East conflict.

What’s Next?

With Operation Rising Lion still ongoing, international observers are closely watching both countries’ next moves. Analysts warn that further targeting of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure could provoke broader regional instability.
