PM Modi’s June 20-21 Visit: Big Push to Infra & Yoga

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bihar, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh on June 20 and 21, 2025, to launch a series of ambitious infrastructure and social development projects, and to lead the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrations in Visakhapatnam.

Major Infra Boost in Bihar

In Siwan, Bihar, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for development projects covering railways, water, and power sectors. Key announcements include:

  • New Vaishali–Deoria railway line and a new train on this route (₹400 crore).
  • Flagging off Patliputra-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat Express.
  • Flagging off the first export locomotive to Guinea, made at Marhowra Plant.
  • Launch of 6 Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) under Namami Gange (₹1800+ crore).

  • Launch of 500 MWh Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across 15 substations in Bihar.
  • Release of first installment to 53,600 PMAY-U beneficiaries and Grih Pravesh for 6,600+ new homes.

Celebrating One Year of Odisha Govt

In Bhubaneswar, Odisha, the PM will chair a function marking one year of the State Government. He will also unveil projects worth ₹18,600 crore across sectors like:

  • Drinking water, health, irrigation, and rural roads.
  • New railway lines, including first-ever connectivity to Boudh district.
  • 100 electric buses for eco-mobility under CRUT.
  • Launch of the Odisha Vision Document for 2036 & 2047.
  • ‘Baraputra Aitihya Gram Yojana’ to honor eminent Odias via heritage tourism.
  • Felicitation of Lakhpati Didis, celebrating over 16.5 lakh women’s empowerment stories.

Leading the 11th International Day of Yoga in Vizag

On June 21, PM Modi will lead the Mass Yoga Demonstration at Visakhapatnam beachfront with 5 lakh participants. This year’s IDY theme is “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, reflecting India’s ancient wellness wisdom for both individual and planetary health.

Yoga events will take place at over 3.5 lakh locations. MyGov and MyBharat platforms are also hosting contests like Yoga with Family and Yoga Unplugged for youth.

This continues India’s tradition of global yoga leadership, with past events led by the PM from New York, Srinagar, and Mysuru among others.

Conclusion

This multi-state tour reaffirms the Centre’s commitment to inclusive growth, infrastructure modernization, women empowerment, heritage revival, and holistic health. From railways and water to clean energy and yoga, this visit underscores India’s march toward “Viksit Bharat” by 2047.
