Rajnath Singh Backs Nitish, BJP Eyes Big Bihar Win

RR Team, July 2, 2025
In a strong political message before the Bihar assembly elections, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh endorsed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership. He spoke at the BJP State Executive Meeting held in Patna. Singh said Bihar has seen visible progress under the NDA regime. He urged party workers to ensure the alliance returns to power.

“It is time to re-elect the NDA in Bihar. The state has seen badlao (change) under Nitish Kumar. We must now strive to make it a Viksit Bihar,” Singh declared. His words received loud applause at Gyan Bhawan.

Political Resolutions and Electoral Push

The BJP passed key resolutions on development under PM Narendra Modi and CM Nitish Kumar. Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary said party members will go to the people with proof of these achievements. Both the central and state governments have delivered results, he added.

Singh praised party workers as the “creators of Golden Bihar.” He urged them to take inspiration from the state’s proud history. Every worker must reach out to people and carry the message of development to every doorstep.

Attack on Opposition and Waqf Act Row

Singh took a direct jab at Congress and RJD, calling them power-hungry. He said their goal is only to remain in power. In contrast, BJP works for nation-building and aims to give every citizen a life of dignity.

He also criticised RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. Singh accused him of disrespecting Jananayak Karpuri Thakur and Babasaheb Ambedkar. He noted that PM Modi honoured Thakur with the Bharat Ratna, while Lalu only paid lip service.

The BJP condemned the “appeasement politics” of the Mahagathbandhan. This was especially targeted at their opposition to the Waqf Act. A recent rally demanding the Act’s repeal was described by BJP as “anti-Constitutional.” Singh said such politics hurt Pasmanda Muslims, who have faced injustice for generations.

Commitment to Social Reform

The party hailed the Waqf Amendment Act as a move toward real social reform. They thanked PM Modi for initiating it. BJP said it will never compromise on the welfare of any community.

“The benefits of these reforms will serve future generations,” the resolution read.

The BJP also referred to the Emergency period. They accused the Congress of wasting decades with slogans like “Garibi Hatao.” The party contrasted this with Modi’s governance, which has lifted 27 crore people out of poverty.
