India celebrated its 75th Republic Day today. On this occasion, President Draupadi Murmu hoisted the national flag on the dusty path of Delhi. During this, French President Emmanuel Macron was present as the chief guest.
New Delhi, 26 January 2024: President Draupadi Murmu hoisted the flag at 9:15 am. After this, he sang the national anthem and gave a 21-gun salute. The parade started after the flag-hoisting ceremony. The theme of this time’s parade was “Developed India” and “India – Mother of Democracy”.
Tableaux from various states and union territories, contingents of the Army, Navy, Air Force, paramilitary forces and various government departments participated in the parade. This time, for the first time, only women policemen from Delhi Police participated in the parade.
Aerial stunts were performed at the end of the parade. On this occasion, President Draupadi Murmu and Chief Guest Macron observed the parade.
Various programs were organized across the country on the occasion of Republic Day. People considered this day a symbol of the unity and integrity of the country.

Women’s power was especially celebrated in this year’s Republic Day celebrations. Apart from President Murmu, many women officers also participated in the parade this time. Only a contingent of women policemen from Delhi Police took part in the parade. Moreover, the Indian Army contingent was led by a woman colonel.
After President Draupadi Murmus’s flag hoisting, he said that this day is the pride of all of us. He said that India is a democratic country and everyone here has equal rights.
Chief guest Macron said that India is an important global power. He said that India and France have close relations.
