PM Modi to Inaugurate ₹5,400 Cr Projects in Gujarat

RR Team, August 25, 2025August 24, 2025

PM Modi to Inaugurate ₹5,400 Cr Projects in Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on 25–26 August to inaugurate, dedicate, and lay foundation stones for multiple
development projects worth over ₹5,400 crore. His visit will highlight India’s progress in infrastructure, mobility,
and green energy, with significant announcements planned in Ahmedabad and Hansalpur.

Major Infrastructure Boost for Gujarat

On 25 August, PM Modi will inaugurate and dedicate projects in Ahmedabad, covering urban development, railways, roads, and energy.
Railway projects worth ₹1,400 crore include doubling the Mahesana–Palanpur line, gauge conversion on Kalol–Kadi–Katosan and Bechraji–Ranuj lines,
and the launch of a new passenger train between Katosan Road and Sabarmati. These projects are expected to ease passenger movement, boost industrial freight,
and improve regional connectivity.

Road projects such as the widening of the Viramgam–Khudad–Rampura road and construction of six-lane vehicle underpasses on the
Ahmedabad–Mehsana–Palanpur highway will enhance transport efficiency. A new railway overbridge on the Ahmedabad–Viramgam road will
further ease congestion and improve safety.

Power and Urban Development

The Prime Minister will inaugurate power distribution projects in Ahmedabad, Mehsana, and Gandhinagar under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme.
With an investment of over ₹1,000 crore, these initiatives will reduce power outages, improve transformer safety, and modernize infrastructure across North Gujarat.

In Ahmedabad, Modi will also inaugurate the development of slums in Ramapir No Tekro under the PMAY (Urban) scheme.
Additional projects include widening of the Sardar Patel Ring Road, water and sewerage management upgrades, and new administrative infrastructure such as a
State-Level Data Storage Centre in Gandhinagar.

Green Mobility Milestone at Hansalpur

On 26 August, the Prime Minister will attend a landmark event at Suzuki’s Hansalpur plant. He will flag off the e VITARA,
Suzuki’s first global battery electric vehicle, which will be exported to more than 100 countries, including Japan and Europe.
The event marks a major success for the Make in India initiative, positioning India as Suzuki’s hub for EV manufacturing.

Modi will also inaugurate localized production of hybrid battery electrodes at the TDS Lithium-Ion Battery Plant — a joint venture of Toshiba, Denso, and Suzuki.
This step will ensure that over 80% of battery value is manufactured domestically, moving India closer to Aatmanirbhar Bharat in green energy.
