Ganga Bath: On the day of Kartik Purnima, bathing in the Ganga is the most important ritual. People go to the river Ganges, or any other holy river or the sea, to take a bath in the Ganges.
Worship of Lord Vishnu: Kartik Purnima is considered the day of Lord Vishnu. On this day people worship Lord Vishnu. Flowers, lamps, incense sticks and other offerings are offered in the puja. Stories of Lord Vishnu are also recited.
Satyanarayan Vrat: Katha Kartik Purnima is also considered the day to listen to Satyanarayan Vrat Katha. This fast story is the story of Lord Vishnu. By listening to this story a person gets all his wishes.
Pushkar Fair: Kartik Purnima also marks the marriage ceremony of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Vrinda and to celebrate this festival, the Kartik Purnima fair is organized in Pushkar, which is known as Pushkar Fair during the month of Kartik. At the fair, people take a bath in Ganga, worship Lord Vishnu and do shopping.
