Major Hydropower Initiatives in Arunachal Pradesh
In Itanagar, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for two major hydropower projects totaling over Rs 3,700 crore. The Heo Hydro Electric Project (240 MW) and Tato-I Hydro Electric Project (186 MW) in the Siyom sub-basin aim to harness Arunachal Pradesh’s vast hydroelectric potential and promote sustainable energy generation in the region. These projects are expected to significantly enhance power availability and contribute to India’s renewable energy goals.
Additionally, a state-of-the-art Convention Center will be constructed in Tawang at an altitude of over 9,820 feet. Designed to host over 1,500 delegates, the center will meet international standards and serve as a hub for conferences, cultural festivals, and exhibitions, boosting tourism and the cultural landscape of the region.
Infrastructure and Social Development Projects
Beyond energy and tourism, PM Modi will inaugurate projects worth over Rs 1,290 crore covering health, connectivity, fire safety, and working women hostels. These initiatives aim to improve quality of life, enhance regional connectivity, and stimulate economic activity. The Prime Minister will also interact with local taxpayers, traders, and industry representatives to discuss the impact of recent GST rate rationalisation on business and local commerce.
Tripura: Revitalising Mata Tripura Sundari Temple
Continuing his visit, PM Modi will travel to Tripura to inaugurate development work at the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex in Matabari. Part of the PRASAD scheme, the project aims to modernize this ancient Shakti Peetha while preserving its spiritual and cultural significance.
The redevelopment plan, designed in a tortoise shape visible from above, includes improved temple pathways, renovated entrances, enhanced drainage, and a new three-storey complex with meditation halls, guest accommodations, stalls, and office rooms. The initiative is expected to boost tourism, create employment, and drive socio-economic growth in the Gomati district.
