PM Modi Marks 11th Anniversary of Make in India

RR Team, September 26, 2025September 26, 2025
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on September 25, 2025, commemorated the 11th anniversary of the Make in India initiative, reflecting on its transformative impact on India’s economy and entrepreneurial ecosystem. Launched in 2014, the initiative aimed to boost domestic manufacturing, promote innovation, and position India as a global investment destination.
Empowering Entrepreneurs and Driving Innovation

PM Modi highlighted how Make in India has catalyzed entrepreneurship across multiple sectors, creating global opportunities for Indian businesses. Responding to posts on MyGovIndia via X, he stated, “11 years ago on this day, the Make in India initiative was launched with a vision to add momentum to India’s growth and tap into our nation’s entrepreneurial potential.”

He emphasized the initiative’s role in encouraging innovation, promoting job creation, and laying the foundation for India’s self-reliance, also known as Aatmanirbharta. The Prime Minister credited the program for boosting India’s international economic influence and fostering a vibrant startup ecosystem.

Economic Growth and Global Impact

Since its launch, Make in India has enabled increased foreign investments and nurtured domestic manufacturing across sectors including automobiles, electronics, textiles, and defense. The initiative has not only created employment opportunities but also strengthened India’s global trade footprint.

PM Modi reiterated the importance of sustaining this momentum: “Make in India has given an impetus to India’s entrepreneurs, thus creating a global impact.” Through policy reforms, incentives, and infrastructure support, India continues to attract investors and strengthen its manufacturing base.

Focus on Innovation, Job Creation, and Aatmanirbharta

The Prime Minister stressed that Make in India has empowered startups, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and large corporations alike. By fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency, the initiative contributes significantly to India’s goal of becoming a self-reliant nation.

The program has also facilitated technology adoption, skill development, and sector-specific reforms that enable domestic industries to compete internationally while meeting domestic demand effectively.

Future Prospects and Vision

PM Modi encouraged continuous participation from entrepreneurs, investors, and stakeholders to further enhance India’s manufacturing and service sectors. He urged innovators to leverage Make in India to expand operations, create jobs, and strengthen India’s global competitiveness.

The anniversary serves as a reminder of India’s progress in economic self-reliance and its rising influence in global manufacturing and innovation landscapes.
