Government Initiatives Transform Paatalkot
The development of Paatalkot has been accelerated under central initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana, Dharti Abba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, and Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan. These programmes have improved road connectivity, housing, drinking water, electricity, and education. Children now attend the Eklavya Residential School in Tamia, while homestay projects in Chimtipur have generated new livelihood opportunities through tourism.
Despite these advancements, healthcare remained a pressing concern. During her visit to Sindhouli and Rated villages, Dr. Choudhary identified the non-functional Ayushman Arogya Kendra and promptly instructed health officials to commence operations immediately. That evening, on 27th September 2025, the healthcare centre officially opened for public use.
Empowering Tribals with Accessible Healthcare
“This is a historic day for Paatalkot. For the first time, our people will not have to walk miles for basic medical needs,” said a villager from Sindhouli. Staff and essential facilities are now fully operational, providing timely treatment and health services to the valley’s residents.
Shri Ajeet Srivastava, Commissioner of NESTS and State Prabhari Officer for Madhya Pradesh, has been actively monitoring and guiding the implementation of Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan in the region, ensuring effective delivery of government schemes to remote areas.
A Model for Last-Mile Development
The inauguration of Paatalkot’s first healthcare centre symbolizes the government’s commitment to last-mile service delivery. By integrating health, education, and infrastructure initiatives, Paatalkot is transitioning from isolation to inclusion, providing its residents with a tangible sense of empowerment and progress.
