Dr Jitendra Singh Showcases India’s Governance Innovations

RR Team, October 12, 2025October 12, 2025
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, who holds portfolios including Science & Technology and PMO, engaged with participants of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme at the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi. Delegates from 19 countries attended the interaction, where India’s governance innovations and technology-driven public service delivery were showcased.
Highlighting India’s transformative governance practices, Dr Singh mentioned the Aadhaar-enabled digital identity system and the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan as examples of how technology ensures transparency, speed, and accountability in public service. He encouraged delegates to share best practices from their countries to foster mutual learning and strengthen global administrative collaborations.

“Our governance model today thrives on innovation—both in technology and creative problem-solving,” said Dr Singh. He noted that nearly 90 percent of Government of India processes are online, ensuring uninterrupted functioning even during crises like the pandemic. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, governance has increasingly focused on efficiency, innovation, and citizen-centric solutions.

Dr Singh also emphasized practical examples of technology-enabled governance, citing smart traffic monitoring systems and online enforcement mechanisms that improve urban administration. He stressed the importance of citizen participation in fostering trust and accountability within government processes.

The Minister urged delegates to continue interaction with IIPA and the Ministry of External Affairs virtually post-programme, reinforcing the potential of technology to maintain continuous knowledge exchange beyond geographical boundaries.

As part of the ongoing commitment to sustainability and community engagement, Dr Singh led the delegates in the Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign and the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” tree plantation drive at IIPA. The activities demonstrated shared responsibility for environmental conservation and the promotion of cleaner, greener public spaces.

Concluding the session, Dr Jitendra Singh reaffirmed India’s vision of collaborative global governance, emphasizing that programs like ITEC exemplify shared growth, mutual learning, and innovation-led partnerships envisioned by Prime Minister Modi.
