Funding and Support for Innovation
The mission will provide milestone-linked funding ranging from ₹5–25 crore per project, with exceptional cases receiving up to ₹50 crore. Eligible applicants include academic and R&D institutions, hospitals, startups, MSMEs, and collaborations within the MedTech industry. This support is designed to help bring high-impact medical technologies from development to market.
In addition to financial backing, the mission offers enabling support through initiatives such as Patent Mitra for intellectual property protection, MedTech Mitra for regulatory guidance, a Clinical Trial Network for validation, and mentorship from industry experts.

- Promote self-reliance and competitiveness by fostering indigenous MedTech development and industry–academia collaborations.
Scope and Focus Areas
The Maha MedTech Mission covers a broad range of medical devices and in-vitro diagnostics, including equipment, implants, surgical and assistive devices, consumables, and software-based solutions. Focus areas include advanced diagnostic imaging, minimally invasive technologies, point-of-care molecular diagnostics, AI/ML platforms, robotics, and other emerging technologies.
Projects aligned with national health priorities such as tuberculosis, cancer, neonatal care, and primary health care are especially encouraged.
Application Process and Timeline
The mission follows a two-stage application process. Concept notes are open from 15 September to 7 November 2025 and will be accepted via the ANRF portal (www.anrfonline.in). Shortlisted proposals will be invited to submit full applications in December 2025.
