In a significant diplomatic engagement, President of India Smt Droupadi Murmu accepted credentials from the newly appointed envoys of Lebanon, Mauritius, Senegal, Saudi Arabia and Ghana at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday. The ceremony, held on November 25, 2025, reaffirmed India’s continued commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and global cooperation.
The presentation of credentials marks the formal beginning of an envoy’s diplomatic responsibilities in India. The President welcomed the ambassadors and high commissioner, extending her best wishes for their tenure and expressing India’s readiness to deepen partnerships across diverse sectors.

Five Nations Strengthen Ties with India

The diplomats who presented their credentials included:

  • H.E. Mr Hadi Jaber – Ambassador of Lebanon

  • H.E. Prof Kwasi Obiri-Danso – Ambassador of Ghana

Each envoy exchanged views with the President on ongoing bilateral initiatives and areas for future collaboration, ranging from economic development and education to cultural partnerships and regional cooperation.

India maintains long-standing diplomatic ties with all five countries, anchored in shared developmental priorities, global peace efforts, and people-to-people relations. The arrival of new envoys is expected to bring renewed momentum to flagship agreements and collaborative projects under implementation.

Focus on Strengthening Global Partnerships

During the ceremony, President Murmu highlighted India’s commitment to playing a constructive global role through diplomacy, development partnerships, and humanitarian cooperation. She also emphasised India’s priorities in areas such as digital innovation, climate resilience, renewable energy, trade expansion and educational exchange.

The envoys conveyed greetings from their Heads of State and expressed keen interest in enhancing cooperation with India. Several of them underlined opportunities for collaboration in tourism, health services, skill development, economic diversification and regional connectivity.

India’s Expanding Diplomatic Footprint

The acceptance of credentials marks the beginning of formal diplomatic duties for the envoys, enabling them to oversee mission activities, strengthen cultural connections, and work with India across multilateral platforms such as the United Nations.

The ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan reflects India’s ongoing commitment to global cooperation rooted in mutual respect, shared values, and a vision for sustainable development and peace.
