The Indian Naval Academy (INA) at Ezhimala hosted its grand Autumn Term 2025 Passing Out Parade (POP) on 29 November 2025. A total of 232 trainees, comprising Midshipmen of the 109th INA Course and cadets from the 39th, 40th, 41st, and 42nd Naval Orientation Courses including cadets from seven friendly foreign nations successfully completed their rigorous ab-initio training.

The parade, a ceremonial milestone marking the culmination of intense naval training, was reviewed by General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), accompanied by Mrs. Anupama Chauhan, President of Defence Wives Welfare Association. The event saw participation of Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command, Vice Admiral Manish Chadha, Commandant INA, senior military officers, and distinguished guests.

Awards Recognise Excellence and Dedication

Outstanding performers were felicitated during the parade. Midshipman Vishesh Kumar received the President’s Gold Medal for topping the INA B.Tech course, highlighting the Academy’s world-class training standards. Midshipman Shaurya Aditya Prajapati was awarded the Chief of the Naval Staff Silver Medal, while the Achiever Squadron received the Commandant’s Champion Squadron Banner for excellence across academics, service subjects, sports, drill, and extracurriculars.

Other awards included the FOC-in-C (South) Trophy awarded to Midshipman Sidhant Jakhar for highest order of merit among ex-NDA trainees. Cadet Hrishikesh V Chaitanya and Cadet Satwik Dikshit received the CNS Gold Medal and Commandant Silver Medal for the Naval Orientation Course (Extended and Regular, respectively). Cadet Ishan Shekhar was presented with the Director General Coast Guard Trophy.

CDS Commends Trainees and Instructors

General Anil Chauhan praised the trainees for their disciplined turnout and precise drill, recognising the dedication of instructors and training staff. He also emphasised the significance of integrating foreign cadets, strengthening international military cooperation and showcasing the Indian Navy’s global training excellence.

Concluding the parade, the CDS, senior naval officers, and dignitaries officially commissioned the passing-out trainees, interacting with proud families in attendance. The newly commissioned officers will join various Naval establishments and frontline ships to further enhance their professional skills and contribute to India’s maritime capabilities.
