Nationwide culmination on December 25
Dr Jitendra Singh stated that the culmination event will mark the successful conclusion of the Sansad Khel Mahotsav, which began on August 25, 2025. He emphasised that the programme has been envisioned as a pan-India initiative celebrating grassroots sporting talent and encouraging a culture of fitness and sportsmanship.
The Minister said the concluding programmes will be coordinated jointly by Members of Parliament, MLAs, and district administrations. Events will be held concurrently across Assembly segments, ensuring broad participation and uniform outreach.
Preparedness for virtual address
Highlighting the importance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s virtual address, Dr Jitendra Singh directed officials to identify suitable venues with reliable digital connectivity and adequate infrastructure. He said districts must remain prepared for different execution models, including district-level and constituency-level participation, based on final guidelines.
He underlined that meticulous planning would be essential to ensure uninterrupted live streaming of the Prime Minister’s address and smooth coordination across multiple locations.
Building a sustainable sports ecosystem
Dr Jitendra Singh stressed that the Sansad Khel Mahotsav is not a one-time event but part of a long-term vision to create a sustainable sports ecosystem in India. He instructed officials to ensure timely uploading of details of winners at Panchayat, Block, District and higher levels on designated portals.
This data-driven approach, he said, will help identify promising athletes and enable them to receive structured support, advanced training opportunities, and exposure at higher competitive platforms.
Alignment with Good Governance Day
The Minister noted that December 25 also marks Good Governance Day (Sushasan Diwas) and the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said the occasion offers an opportunity to integrate themes of governance, youth empowerment and nation-building into local programmes.
District administrations were encouraged to align Sansad Khel Mahotsav events with these national observances to enhance public engagement and visibility.
Wide participation and institutional support
The culmination events are expected to witness participation from local youth, sportspersons, community representatives and eminent personalities from the sports sector. The programmes will be organised under the broader framework of the MY Bharat platform.
Support is being extended by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Education, and district administrations to ensure wide outreach and effective implementation.
