He emphasized the importance of structural investments to sustain India’s growth into 2100, highlighting the country’s young demography.

Minister of State Shri Jitin Prasada noted that India is emerging as a reliable global electronics manufacturing partner amidst geopolitical uncertainties. MeitY Secretary Shri S. Krishnan affirmed that the approved applications are crucial for India’s electronics supply chain and manufacturing goals.

Vision for Electronics Manufacturing in India

The ECMS approvals are part of a larger vision to position India as a global hub for electronics manufacturing, reduce import dependence, and expand high-value production capabilities. With 46 applications approved across 11 states so far, totaling Rs 54,567 crore investment, the scheme has already generated over 51,000 jobs and is central to India’s Make in India initiative.

Through these initiatives, India aims to strengthen domestic supply chains, foster innovation, and achieve self-reliance in critical electronic components.
