The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Secretary of the Legislative Department and senior officers and staff from the department, including personnel from the Official Language Wing and Vidhi Sahitya Prakashan. The event marked a significant step toward enhancing the operational efficiency of the Legislative Department.
During the event, the first print from the new facility, a copy of the Index to Statutory Definitions (Fourth Edition), was produced and presented to the Hon’ble Minister, symbolizing the commencement of operations. Shri Meghwal emphasized that the in-house setup would enable the department to reduce dependence on external vendors and ensure timely access to critical legal publications.
“Having an in-house printing facility is crucial for the Legislative Department to maintain the regular and prompt publication of statutory books and documents. This move ensures efficiency, accuracy, and the ability to meet the department’s dynamic requirements,” said Shri Meghwal during his address.
The facility is equipped with modern printing technology to cater to a range of departmental needs. It will primarily focus on printing legal publications, internal reports, and other official materials, thereby supporting the Legislative Department in maintaining its statutory obligations and improving overall productivity.
Officials noted that the setup is also aligned with the department’s goal of leveraging technology to enhance transparency and accountability in documentation processes. By consolidating printing operations under one roof, the Legislative Department expects faster turnaround times and better quality control.
The launch of this facility underscores the government’s commitment to modernizing administrative processes and ensuring that key legislative resources are efficiently produced for policy makers, researchers, and the public.
