The pilot integrates with the Government’s ₹60,000 crore Model ITI Scheme, enabling vocational institutions to adopt AI-enabled curricula and upgraded infrastructure.
Google Partnership and Population-Scale Impact
Google India, led by VP & Country Manager Preeti Lobana, committed ₹85 crore via Google.org grant to Wadhwani AI, facilitating AI tools on national platforms like SWAYAM and Poshan Tracker, reaching over 75 million learners. Chris Phillips, VP, Education, Google, underscored responsible AI deployment, while live demonstrations showcased AI solutions for personalized learning and career support.
India as a Global AI Model
Shri Jayant Chaudhary highlighted India’s unique position as a testbed for the Global South. AI solutions built for India’s diverse population—covering multiple languages and low-cost devices—are envisioned as public goods for countries across Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to Vishwa Bandhu—friendship with the world.
Building the National Blueprint
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) will create a National Best Practice Framework from CCSU’s pilot, enabling colleges and universities to self-credential as “AI-enabled institutions.” CCSU will also host knowledge-sharing sessions, serving as a Centre of Excellence for AI-driven education and skills development across India.
The forum concluded with a collaborative photo session, marking a significant step towards a technologically empowered education ecosystem where every learner gains future-ready skills aligned with AI-driven industry demands.
