Competition Structure and Participation
The national-level competition will commence on the MY Bharat platform from 3rd February 2026. Registered youth from colleges, coaching centers, and institutions across India can participate in an online quiz focused on the Union Budget 2026 until 17th February. Top performers from each State and Union Territory will advance to a second round, an essay-writing competition scheduled from 17th February to 3rd March.
In the essay round, participants will choose from eight topics aligned with the Union Budget and the broader vision of Viksit Bharat. This round allows young citizens to express their perspectives and innovative ideas, reinforcing youth voices in national economic discourse.
Evaluation and Rewards
Essays will be evaluated between 3rd and 10th March 2026, with State and UT-wise merit lists announced on 10th March. Winners will receive a unique opportunity to interact with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to discuss the vision of a Viksit Bharat Budget, highlighting the government’s commitment to informed youth participation in policy and development priorities.
Government’s Vision and Youth Engagement
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Mandaviya said, “During the Budget Speech this year, the Hon’ble Finance Minister acknowledged the innovative ideas shared by youth during VBYLD and mentioned that some ideas were incorporated into the Union Budget 2026–27. With MY Bharat Budget Quest, we aim to continue this spirit and empower young voices once again.”
Platform and Accessibility
The competition is hosted entirely on the MY Bharat digital platform, which already serves as a hub for youth engagement, experiential learning, and volunteering. The platform provides a structured framework for participation and ensures seamless access through mobile and web applications, fostering nationwide involvement.
