During the NDA’s inaugural election rally in Andhra Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged individuals to descend from an electric tower, emphasizing the potential danger. The incident occurred as PM Modi, accompanied by Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena Party chief and actor Pawan Kalyan, addressed the gathering in Boppudi village, near Chilakaluripet town in Palnadu district.
PM Modi noticed several people climbing the tower to gain a better view of the event and promptly appealed to them to descend, expressing concern to avert any potential mishaps. He reiterated this plea while Pawan Kalyan addressed the crowd, stressing the importance of safety and the risks posed by the electrical wires surrounding the tower.
Additionally, PM Modi directed police officials to ensure the safety of individuals and prevent further climbing incidents. This occurrence echoes a similar incident during a previous election rally in Telangana’s Secunderabad, where a woman climbed a light tower in an attempt to communicate with PM Modi.
PM Modi’s presence in Andhra Pradesh marks the commencement of the election campaign for both the Lok Sabha and assembly elections. The BJP has formed an alliance with the TDP and Janasena for these elections, with all three leaders sharing the stage for the first time in the 2024 polls.
Seat-sharing arrangements were finalized following extensive discussions at Naidu’s Andhra Pradesh residence, under which the BJP, TDP, and Janasena will contest specified numbers of Lok Sabha and assembly seats.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission has announced the schedule for the upcoming elections, with polling for parliamentary constituencies taking place in seven phases from April 19 to June 1. Additionally, voting for the 175-member Andhra Pradesh assembly will occur on May 13.
