JEE Main Result 2026 on Feb 16, Confirms NTA

RR Team, February 12, 2026February 12, 2026

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has confirmed that the JEE Main Result 2026 for Session 1 will now be declared on February 16. Candidates who appeared for the engineering entrance exam will be able to download their scorecards from the official websites once the results are released.

Where to Check JEE Main Result 2026

The JEE Main Result 2026 Session 1 will be published on nta.ac.in and jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates must log in using their application number and password to access their scorecards and cut-off marks.

The result will include the candidate’s percentile score, All India Rank (if applicable), and qualification status for JEE Advanced 2026.

Final Answer Key Before Results

The objection window for the provisional answer key closed on February 6. After reviewing the challenges submitted by candidates, the NTA prepares and publishes the final answer key.

As per examination norms, no re-evaluation or re-checking of the JEE Main Result 2026 will be permitted. The agency has clearly stated that no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

Exam Conducted in January

The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examination was conducted in computer-based mode from January 21 to January 29. The test was held in two shifts daily — from 9 AM to 12 Noon and from 3 PM to 6 PM.

For BE and BTech papers, the exam was conducted between January 21 and January 28. Students and subject experts described the paper as moderately difficult overall, although difficulty levels varied across shifts and subjects.

Courses Covered Under JEE Main 2026

The scores of JEE Main 2026 will be used for admission to undergraduate programmes such as BE, BTech, BArch, and BPlanning at participating central, state, and private institutions across India.

Additionally, the merit list and scores may also be utilised by other government bodies or institutions, subject to their respective eligibility criteria and admission rules.

Strict Rules on Unfair Means

The NTA has reiterated that results of candidates found using unfair means practices (UMP) will be cancelled. Similarly, candidates appearing from centres other than those allotted, or those allowing impersonation, will face cancellation of candidature.

Candidates who attempt the same session more than once will also be debarred in accordance with examination guidelines.

Session 2 Registration Details

Meanwhile, the registration process for JEE Main 2026 Session 2 is underway. Candidates who appeared in Session 1 can log in using their existing credentials to apply for Session 2.

The last date to submit the application form and pay the fee is February 25, 2026, up to 9 PM. The Session 2 examinations are scheduled to be conducted between April 2 and April 9.

Comparison with Last Year

In 2025, the NTA declared the January session results on February 11. During that session, 12 questions were dropped from the final answer key.

With lakhs of engineering aspirants awaiting their scores this year, the February 16 declaration date has become crucial for admission planning and preparation for JEE Advanced.

Candidates are advised to regularly check the official NTA websites for the latest updates regarding JEE Main Result 2026 and further admission procedures.
