AI Tools to Empower Panchayats
At the heart of MoPR’s showcase are three AI-enabled platforms SabhaSaar, PRAMAN and eGramSaathi. These digital tools aim to enhance transparency, accuracy and efficiency in village-level governance.
SabhaSaar leverages AI-based recording and transcription to automatically generate structured minutes of Gram Sabha meetings in local languages. The tool addresses long-standing concerns about documentation gaps and inconsistent record-keeping at the village level.
PRAMAN applies image analytics for automated validation and quality checks of asset photographs uploaded under government schemes. This ensures authenticity and improves monitoring of developmental works executed by Panchayats.
Meanwhile, eGramSaathi functions as an AI-powered real-time information support system for Panchayat functionaries and citizens. It assists in resolving queries, understanding scheme guidelines and enabling faster decision-making.
‘Sarpanch ki Chaupal, AI ka Kamaal’ Draws Attention
A unique attraction at the pavilion is the Nukkad Natak titled “Sarpanch ki Chaupal, AI ka Kamaal.” The street-play format creatively demonstrates how AI can support Gram Sabha proceedings by structuring discussions and ensuring transparent documentation.
The performance aligns with the Summit’s theme “Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya,” reflecting the Ministry’s objective of using technology for inclusive and accountable governance.
Visitors can also participate in an interactive simulation titled “Be the Sarpanch,” which offers a hands-on experience of AI-assisted decision documentation within a traditional village meeting setting.
Strengthening Last-Mile Governance
The Ministry’s interventions seek to institutionalise reliable digital records of Gram Sabha proceedings and promote greater citizen participation. By combining AI tools with grassroots administrative processes, MoPR aims to deepen participatory democracy.
Officials highlighted that citizen engagement largely occurs at the Panchayat and municipal levels. Therefore, integrating AI into these platforms ensures real-time support and improved accountability at the last mile.
The India AI Impact Summit 2026, being held at Bharat Mandapam, has brought together policymakers, technology experts and industry leaders to discuss the transformative potential of AI across sectors.
Open to Visitors Till February 20
The MoPR Pavilion is located at Hall 5, Booth 5F5 and 5F9 at Bharat Mandapam and will remain open to visitors until February 20, 2026. Live demonstrations of SabhaSaar, PRAMAN and eGramSaathi continue to attract delegates and technology enthusiasts alike.
As India accelerates its digital governance journey, the Ministry’s AI-driven approach signals a decisive shift towards smarter, more transparent and citizen-centric rural administration.
