UPSC ESE Prelims 2026 Result Declared, Mains on June 21

RR Team, February 26, 2026February 27, 2026

New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the result of the Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2026. Candidates who have qualified in the preliminary stage will now appear for the Engineering Services (Main) Examination scheduled for June 21, 2026.

Prelims Held on February 8

The Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026 was conducted on February 8 by the UPSC across multiple centres in the country. Based on the performance in this screening test, a list of candidates has been shortlisted for the next stage of the examination process.

Mains Examination on June 21

The Engineering Services (Main) Examination 2026 will be conducted on Sunday, June 21. Only those candidates whose roll numbers appear in the officially released list are eligible to sit for the Mains examination.

The Commission has clarified that the candidature of all qualified candidates remains purely provisional. Their eligibility will be subject to verification at every stage of the examination process, including document scrutiny and subsequent personality testing.

Admit Cards and Further Instructions

Qualified candidates will be able to download their e-admit cards approximately one week before the commencement of the Mains examination. The e-admit cards will be available exclusively on the UPSC website, and no physical copies will be sent by post.

Candidates are advised to carefully read the Rules of the Engineering Services Examination 2026 issued by the Ministry of Communications, Department of Telecommunications, along with the Examination Notice No. 02/2026 ENGG dated September 26, 2025. These documents are accessible on the Commission’s official website.

No Change in Centre or Discipline

UPSC has made it clear that no requests for change of examination centre or engineering discipline for the Mains stage will be entertained under any circumstances. Candidates are therefore urged to carefully check their details and examination centre information once the admit cards are released.

The Commission also reiterated that mobile phones and electronic devices are strictly prohibited inside the UPSC examination campus and halls.

Marks and Cut-Off to Be Released Later

The marks and cut-off marks of the Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026 will be uploaded on the Commission’s website only after the entire examination process concludes. This includes the conduct of the Personality Test and declaration of the final result.

Until then, candidates will have access only to the list of qualified roll numbers. The final merit list will be prepared based on performance in the Mains examination and the Personality Test.

Facilitation Counter for Queries

For any clarification regarding the examination or results, candidates can contact the UPSC Facilitation Counter at the Commission’s campus. Assistance is available on working days between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Candidates may also reach out through the official telephone numbers provided by the Commission. Detailed contact information is available on the official website and in the examination notification.
