The introduction of the myCGHS iOS app by the Union Health Ministry marks a significant step forward for the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) in enhancing healthcare services. The Union Health Secretary, in his remarks during the launch, highlighted the app’s role in granting CGHS beneficiaries convenient access to essential healthcare features directly through their smartphones. This initiative is in line with the government’s commitment to leveraging technology for the betterment of healthcare services.
Developed by the technical teams of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) Himachal Pradesh and NIC Health Team, the myCGHS iOS app boasts a user-friendly interface tailored to cater to the needs of CGHS beneficiaries. Its wide range of features includes online appointment booking and cancellation, downloading CGHS cards, accessing lab reports, checking medicine history, monitoring medical reimbursement claim status, and referral details, and locating nearby wellness centres, hospitals, labs, and dental units.
To ensure the security of user data, the app integrates features such as 2-factor authentication and mPIN functionality, safeguarding confidentiality and data integrity. The launch of the myCGHS app represents a significant milestone in digital healthcare services within the CGHS Department. It is now available for free download on both iOS and Android platforms, encouraging CGHS beneficiaries to embrace this innovative solution for a seamless healthcare experience.
The launch event witnessed the presence of Smt. Roli Singh, Additional Secretary of, the Union Health Ministry, and Dr Manashvi Kumar, Joint Secretary of, the Union Health Ministry, highlight the importance accorded to this digital healthcare initiative by the ministry.
