During his inaugural election rally in Tamil Nadu, Rahul Gandhi characterized the impending 2024 Lok Sabha polls as an “ideological battle” aimed at safeguarding the Indian Constitution, democracy, and pluralism. He expressed confidence that the INDIA bloc would emerge victorious in this struggle with the resounding support of the people.
In his address at Palayamkottai, Gandhi outlined the opposing ideologies, portraying the INDIA bloc as champions of freedom and equality, in contrast to the BJP-led coalition’s alignment with the RSS’s principles. While the INDIA bloc advocates for a pluralistic nation embracing diverse languages and cultures, the BJP promotes a vision of uniformity with its doctrine of one nation, one language, one culture, and one leader. However, Gandhi asserted that for the INDIA bloc, equality reigns supreme, driving the ongoing ideological confrontation.
