Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed concern over the stone-pelting incident targeting Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Saturday and extended his wishes for Jagan’s swift recovery and good health.
In a message shared on his official social media platform, PM Modi stated, “I pray for the speedy recovery and good health of Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Garu.”
The incident occurred on Saturday evening during the ‘Memantha Siddham’ bus yatra in Vijayawada, leaving CM Jagan with a deep gash under his eyebrow due to the stone-pelting attack.
According to sources within the ruling YSR Congress, an unidentified individual threw a stone at the chief minister, causing an injury to his left eyebrow.
Immediate first-aid was administered to CM Jagan on the bus, following which he continued his journey.
In response to the incident, YSRCP leader KK Raju led a protest against the alleged attack, blaming the TDP along with its NDA partners, the BJP and the Jana Sena Party, for orchestrating the assault.
State IT Minister Gudivada Amarnath also condemned the attack, highlighting widespread condemnation from YSRCP activists and supporters worldwide.
With the assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh scheduled simultaneously on May 13, the political landscape is charged as various parties gear up for the polls.
