Raebareli: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav responded sharply to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “khata-khat” jibe at the Samajwadi Party and the Congress, asserting that the public will swiftly remove him from office “fata-fatt, fata-fatt, fata-fatt (quickly).” Yadav made these remarks during an INDIA bloc rally in Raebareli, accompanied by Congress candidate Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi also joined the public meeting later.
Yadav criticized PM Modi, accusing the BJP of sending important people and friends abroad rapidly, saying, “His friends fled abroad ‘khata-khat khata-khat (swiftly).” He accused the Modi government of plunging the country into debt and claimed, “Now, the public is telling them that they will remove you fata-fatt, fata-fatt, fata-fatt.”
Yadav also aimed the government’s anti-corruption stance, mocking the slogan “na khaunga, na khane dunga” (I will not engage in corruption, nor allow others to do so), stating, “Sab dakar gaye aur keh rahen hain gata-gat gata-gat. (They have devoured everything and are saying gata-gat gata-gat).”
PM Modi, addressing a rally on Thursday, predicted the disintegration of the INDIA bloc post-elections, suggesting that Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav would go abroad for a vacation ‘khata-khat, khata-khat.’ He used the phrase again in Fatehpur on Friday, implying that the dreams of the Congress and SP have shattered ‘khata-khat, khata-khat.’
In his rally, Yadav criticized a prominent leader who pretends to have a relationship with every place he visits, suggesting that Rahul Gandhi’s true relationship is with Raebareli. He pointed out, “If ‘Ra’ is for Raebareli, then ‘Ra’ is also for Rahul.” He also noted that the BJP is facing defeat in the ongoing elections, saying, “One plus one has become 11, and the BJP has become nau do gyarah (fled).”
Yadav took a dig at MLA Manoj Pandey, who recently joined the BJP and appeared with Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing him of being a fraudster who “digs a hole” wherever he goes.
Voting in Raebareli will take place in the fifth phase on May 20, where BJP has fielded state minister Dinesh Pratap Singh against Congress’ Rahul Gandhi.
