Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set for a significant two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir starting today. During his visit, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation for 84 major development projects worth over Rs 1,500 crore. Additionally, PM Modi will lead the International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21.

- Inauguration of Development Projects:
- PM Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate 84 development projects in the Union Territory.
- The projects, valued at over Rs 1,500 crore, include road infrastructure, water supply schemes, and higher education infrastructure.
- Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors (JKCIP) Project:
- The Prime Minister will launch the JKCIP Project, worth Rs 1,800 crore, aimed at enhancing competitiveness in agriculture and allied sectors.
- The project will be implemented across 90 blocks in 20 districts, benefiting 300,000 households and covering 15 lakh beneficiaries.
- Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K Event:
- At around 6 PM today, PM Modi will participate in the “Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K” event at Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar.
- He will inspect stalls, interact with young achievers from Jammu and Kashmir, and distribute appointment letters to over 2,000 new government employees.
Yoga Day Celebrations:
- On June 21, PM Modi will lead the International Day of Yoga celebrations at SKICC, Srinagar.
- This year marks the 10th International Day of Yoga, with the theme “Yoga for Self and Society,” emphasizing the practice’s benefits for both individuals and communities.
- Since 2015, PM Modi has led Yoga Day events at various iconic locations, including Kartavya Path in Delhi, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Ranchi, Lucknow, Mysuru, and even the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
During the Yoga Day event, PM Modi will also address the gathering, underscoring the importance of yoga in fostering both personal and societal well-being.
