Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, e-inaugurated 30 smart schools in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, constructed at a cost of Rs 36 crore. Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel and other dignitaries were present at the event.
Shri Amit Shah highlighted that these schools align with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The 30 smart schools, developed by the Ahmedabad Municipal School Board, are spread across the Ghatlodiya, Vejalpur, Naranpura, and Sabarmati assembly constituencies. They will benefit over 10,000 children, enhancing their educational experience with modern facilities.
Out of the 69 schools in Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency, 59 have already been upgraded to smart schools, with plans to upgrade the remaining ones. The curriculum of these smart schools includes skill development, vocational training, and digital empowerment. Additionally, the schools feature advanced facilities like Mathematics and Science Laboratories, Future Classrooms, 3-D Educational Charts, 3-D Painting, and elements of Indian Culture.
This visit marked Shri Amit Shah’s first trip to Gujarat as the newly elected Home Minister and Member of Parliament for Gandhinagar after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He expressed his commitment to developing Gandhinagar into the most advanced parliamentary constituency, ensuring progress in all fields.
Reflecting on the significance of June 21, Shri Amit Shah recalled Prime Minister Modi’s proposal in 2014 to the United Nations General Assembly to celebrate International Yoga Day. This initiative, supported by around 170 countries, has seen millions globally incorporate yoga into their daily lives.
Shri Amit Shah praised yoga as a scientific method to connect the body, mind, and soul through meditation, asanas, and Pranayama. He acknowledged PM Modi’s efforts in promoting yoga worldwide, noting its celebration across the globe every year on June 21. He encouraged gratitude towards Prime Minister Modi for using yoga to foster global well-being and highlighted the Gujarat government’s initiatives to promote yoga, including incorporating it into the academic curriculum.
