Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude to voters for re-electing the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government and highlighted the “unwavering faith” in the Constitution as he resumed his monthly radio broadcast, Mann Ki Baat, on Sunday. This episode marked the first broadcast after PM Modi’s re-election for a third term.
PM Modi acknowledged the immense trust people have placed in the democratic process, noting that the 2024 Lok Sabha election was the largest in the world, with 650 million voters participating. He thanked the citizens for their continued support of the Constitution and democracy.
Mann Ki Baat had been on a three-month hiatus due to the Lok Sabha elections, and PM Modi mentioned he had missed the interaction since the last episode on February 25. He emphasized that while the program was paused, its spirit continued through the ongoing positive work being done across the country.
The Prime Minister also encouraged the nation to support the Indian athletes participating in the upcoming Paris Olympics, urging people to use the ‘cheer4Bharat’ hashtag. He reminisced about the Tokyo Olympics, where Indian athletes made the country proud, and wished the best for the Indian contingent in Paris.
Additionally, PM Modi touched on the celebration of International Yoga Day, the global success of Indian films, achievements in afforestation, and other significant topics.
Launched in October 2014, Mann Ki Baat enables the Prime Minister to directly connect with the nation, addressing various issues, government initiatives, and delivering inspiring messages. The program is broadcast in 22 Indian languages, 29 dialects, and 11 foreign languages, including French, Chinese, and Arabic, reaching a wide audience through over 500 broadcast centers of All India Radio.
