During a 135-minute speech in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi faced continuous sloganeering and heckling from opposition MPs on the Manipur issue. Despite the interruptions, Prime Minister Modi remained composed and, in a surprising gesture, offered water to the opposition MPs who were shouting slogans against the government in the Well of the House. This incident took place while Modi was replying to the discussion on the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address.
The nearly 135-minute speech was marred by continuous interruptions from opposition members.
At one point, PM Modi offered a glass of water to the opposition MPs in the Well. Remarkably, one opposition MP accepted the gesture.
This gesture quickly became a trending topic on social media, with many of Modi’s supporters applauding the act.
BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla sarcastically noted, “Modi the dictator offers water to Opposition MPs who heckled his entire speech.”
An X user commented, “While PM Modi was addressing the House, opposition MPs were in the well, shouting to interrupt him. In response, PM Modi offered them water. KING BEHAVIOUR.”
Another user remarked, “This is a boss move. Modi ji offered water to the hecklers who were shouting non-stop. One guy took the water.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a strong counterattack on Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, mocking him as ‘balak buddhi’ (childish mind). He accused Gandhi of linking Hindus with violence and making false claims in the Lok Sabha, calling for stringent action against him to protect parliamentary democracy.
