Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurved Ltd announced on Tuesday that it has ceased the sale of 14 products whose manufacturing licenses were suspended by the Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority in April.
Patanjali informed a bench of Justices Hima Kohli and Sandeep Mehta that instructions have been issued to 5,606 franchise stores to withdraw these products from their shelves. Additionally, media platforms have been directed to remove advertisements for these 14 products in any form.
The Supreme Court mandated that Patanjali file an affidavit within two weeks confirming whether social media platforms have complied with the request to remove advertisements and whether these advertisements have been withdrawn.
The Court emphasized that Patanjali should not sell products with suspended licenses. Justice Amanullah stated, “If the license is suspended, the product should not be sold. We have to give a notice (otherwise)! The moment it is suspended, from that day they cannot do. The same should be on hold. Take it off.”
The 14 Patanjali products affected by the suspension are:
