Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with 181 IAS officer trainees from the 2022 batch, who are currently serving as Assistant Secretaries in various Ministries and Departments, at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi today.
During the session, officers shared their training experiences. Recalling his previous interaction with them during the Aarambh programme in 2022, the Prime Minister emphasized the purpose of the Assistant Secretary programme, which is to offer young officers experiential learning from the highest to the lowest levels of the administrative hierarchy.
Highlighting the expectations of New India, the Prime Minister urged the officers to adopt a proactive approach and strive for the best in governance, manufacturing quality, and quality of life for all citizens. Citing schemes like Lakhpati Didi, Drone Didi, and PM Awas Yojana, he encouraged the officers to work with a saturation approach to ensure these initiatives reach everyone, promoting social justice and preventing discrimination. “It is your choice whether to be speed breakers or a superfast highway in service delivery,” he remarked, urging them to become catalysts for change and derive satisfaction from witnessing tangible progress.
The Prime Minister reiterated that “Nation First” is more than a slogan—it is his life’s mission—and called on the officers to join him on this journey. He reminded them that the accolades received upon their selection as IAS officers are in the past, and they should now focus on moving towards a brighter future.
The event was also attended by Minister of State (Personnel) Shri Jitendra Singh, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Shri P. K. Mishra, Cabinet Secretary Shri Rajiv Gauba, Secretary (Home and DoPT) Shri A.K. Bhalla, and other senior officials.
