The FBI, leading the investigation into the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, has identified the shooter as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. However, they have yet to disclose the motive behind the attack.
FBI Special Agent Kevin Rojek mentioned at a press briefing that while they are close to confirming the identity of the shooter, they are not fully ready to release this information to the public. The agency continues to investigate the motive and has called for public assistance from anyone who witnessed the incident.
The attack, which took place at a rally in Butler, left one person dead and two others critically injured. President Joe Biden has condemned the violence, emphasizing the need for unity and denouncing political violence in the country.
