Manish Tiwary, the country head of Amazon India, has resigned from the e-commerce giant, a company spokesperson confirmed to Reuters. This resignation marks a significant change in the leadership team of one of India’s largest online marketplaces. Tiwary is reportedly moving on to a new role at another company.
According to the Reuters report, Amazon has not yet announced Tiwary’s successor. Sources indicate that Amazon is unlikely to appoint an immediate replacement. In the interim, the existing team will collaborate closely with Amit Agarwal, Senior Vice President for Emerging Markets at Amazon.
Tiwary will remain with the company until October to ensure a smooth transition. During his eight-year tenure, which began in 2016 after his stint at Unilever, Tiwary led Amazon India’s consumer business, including seller services.
