Today, President Droupadi Murmu attended the 5th convocation of JC Bose University of Science and Technology in Faridabad, Haryana.
In her address, the President highlighted the global shift towards the Fourth Industrial Revolution and emphasized India’s readiness to navigate its challenges and opportunities. She underscored the crucial role of institutions like JC Bose University in this transformative period.
President Murmu praised the university for its recent partnerships with various industrial and academic entities, as well as the establishment of Centers of Excellence by multinational companies on campus. She expressed optimism that these initiatives will lead to significant advancements.
She noted the positive impact of technological developments, such as increased internet access in remote areas, which has opened up new online job opportunities. However, she also stressed the importance of using technology responsibly to ensure sustainable development and public welfare, warning against its potential misuse.
The President commended JC Bose University for its role in empowering youth with skills and fostering self-reliance. She also acknowledged the university’s distinguished alumni, who have made notable contributions in various fields. She encouraged the university to enhance the effectiveness of its Alumni Association’s contributions.
Referencing the university’s namesake, the renowned scientist Jagadish Chandra Bose, President Murmu reflected on his groundbreaking work in demonstrating that plants have feelings, which transformed our understanding of the natural world. She urged students to draw inspiration from his legacy and use technology to drive positive societal change.
Concluding her speech, President Murmu expressed pride in India’s rich heritage and urged the youth to embrace their role as its torchbearers. She encouraged students to have confidence in their abilities and pursue their goals with determination.
