Accenture Announces First Salary Hike in 2.5 Years, Promotes Thousands Amid Global Uncertainty

RR Team, May 21, 2025May 21, 2025

In a much-awaited move that brings cautious relief to thousands of employees, global IT giant Accenture has announced salary hikes ranging from 3% to 13% for professionals at the Associate Manager level and above. This marks the company’s first increment in two and a half years, offering a glimmer of hope amidst ongoing economic and geopolitical challenges.

For many employees, this announcement has been long overdue. While the percentage hikes vary, even the highest increases are being met with mixed emotions due to the prolonged period of stagnant wages. The company, however, believes this step reflects its commitment to rewarding performance despite a turbulent global business climate.

These raises come as part of Accenture’s regular June performance cycle, and are accompanied by a large wave of promotions — nearly 50,000 globally, with around 15,000 in India alone. Over the course of FY25, more than 43,000 employees in India are expected to receive promotions, reflecting the company’s continued focus on growth in key markets.

Ajay Vij, Senior Country Managing Director at Accenture India, assured in an internal communication that this cycle would include base pay increases not only for those being promoted but also for others in strategic roles or who were missed during the December cycle. By the end of FY25, the majority of the company’s Indian workforce is expected to benefit from either a promotion or a salary adjustment.

This decision comes at a time when several major Indian IT firms, including TCS and Wipro, have delayed or deferred salary hikes due to business uncertainties. Accenture’s move stands out as a sign of relative stability and a willingness to support its employees, even as operating margins remain under pressure.

Despite revenue growth seen in FY24, the company acknowledges that the road ahead will require careful navigation. The company emphasized its ongoing focus on helping clients transform their operations, especially with the growing integration of AI-powered tools.

The salary increases, though modest for some, offer a sense of recognition and encouragement to employees who have continued to deliver during uncertain times. Promotion communications are expected between May 26 and 29, while bonuses and variable pay will continue to follow the December cycle.

In a time when global uncertainty continues to test the resilience of businesses and workers alike, Accenture’s move — though measured — serves as a reassuring step forward for its workforce.
