₹10,080 Crore Solar and BESS Manufacturing Investment
The most significant investment announced on Day 2 came from Galaxy Solar Energy Pvt. Ltd., which signed a MoU with the Government of Maharashtra to establish an Integrated Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Manufacturing Plant in Nagpur district. The project, with an investment of ₹10,080 crore, is expected to play a vital role in strengthening India’s renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem.
The proposed facility will focus on end-to-end manufacturing of solar modules and energy storage solutions, supporting India’s clean energy transition and reducing dependence on imports. Officials noted that the project would also help develop a robust local supply chain and generate significant direct and indirect employment in the region.
Infrastructure Push with Tower Manufacturing Plant
In another major development, G R Infraprojects Limited entered into a MoU to invest ₹200 crore in setting up a Tower Manufacturing Plant in Nagpur. The facility is expected to support infrastructure projects across highways, power transmission and urban development sectors.
The plant will enhance local manufacturing capabilities and contribute to faster execution of large-scale infrastructure projects. Industry experts highlighted that such investments position Vidarbha as a strategic manufacturing base for infrastructure-linked industries.
World-Class Healthcare Facility Near Metro Corridor
Expanding the region’s healthcare infrastructure, M/s Quality CARE India Ltd. (Care Group) signed a MoU with Maha-Metro to develop a 350-plus bed multi-speciality hospital near Kasturchand Park Metro Station in Nagpur. The project, to be implemented under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, involves an investment exceeding ₹600 crore.
The hospital is expected to provide advanced tertiary healthcare services while leveraging metro connectivity for improved accessibility. Officials stated that the project would significantly enhance urban healthcare delivery and create employment opportunities for medical and allied professionals.
Leadership Emphasises Jobs and Regional Growth
Addressing the gathering, Shri Nitin Gadkari expressed heartfelt gratitude to industry partners and Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis for their role in enabling the partnerships. He said the investments would act as a catalyst for economic growth, employment generation and infrastructure expansion in Vidarbha.
According to official estimates, the three projects together are expected to generate over 6,000 jobs, both directly and indirectly. The initiatives also align with the broader vision of making Vidarbha a hub for clean energy leadership, advanced manufacturing and world-class urban amenities.
