AIIA, CAYEIT Sign MoU to Integrate AI in Ayurveda

RR Team, January 27, 2026January 28, 2026
New Delhi | January 27, 2026: In a major step towards advancing digital healthcare in India, the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Ayurveda Education, Innovation & Technology (CAYEIT). The collaboration aims to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies into Ayurveda, strengthening research, education, and global outreach of India’s traditional medical system.

The agreement marks a significant milestone for the Ministry of AYUSH’s flagship institution as it seeks to modernize Ayurveda while preserving its classical foundations. The partnership is expected to foster cutting-edge research, promote technology transfer, and develop innovative educational frameworks aligned with global healthcare standards.

MoU Signing Ceremony at AIIA Campus

The MoU was formally signed at the Brihaspati Dev Triguna Auditorium at AIIA, New Delhi. Prof. (Vd.) P. K. Prajapati, Director of AIIA, signed the agreement on behalf of the institute, while Prof. Dr. Abhimanyu Kumar, Chairman and CEO of CAYEIT, represented the technology-focused organisation.

The ceremony began with a welcome address by Dr. Mahapatra Arun Kumar, Associate Professor in the Department of Kaumarabhritya at AIIA. This was followed by a detailed presentation on the objectives and scope of the MoU by Shri Aviral Apurva, Chief Education and Technology Officer of CAYEIT.

Blending Clinical Excellence with Technology

Addressing the gathering, AIIA Director Prof. (Vd.) Pradeep Kumar Prajapati highlighted the importance of bridging traditional knowledge systems with modern digital tools. He said that combining CAYEIT’s technological expertise with AIIA’s strong clinical and academic foundation would empower scholars and researchers to convert classical Ayurvedic research into globally relevant healthcare solutions.

He emphasized that the collaboration would also encourage interdisciplinary research, enhance evidence-based validation of Ayurveda, and strengthen India’s leadership in integrative medicine.

Expert Talk on Artificial Intelligence in Ayurveda

Following the signing ceremony, Prof. Abhimanyu Kumar, former Director of AIIA and a leading voice in Ayurvedic innovation, delivered an expert lecture titled “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Ayurveda.” His presentation focused on how AI and Machine Learning can be used to analyse classical Ayurvedic texts and clinical data.

He demonstrated the potential of AI-driven tools in enabling personalized, Prakriti-based treatment protocols and stressed the role of Network Pharmacology in providing globally acceptable scientific evidence for Ayurvedic formulations.

Academic Participation and Institutional Growth

The event witnessed the presence of eminent academicians and administrators, including Prof. Rajagopala S., Dean (Research) and Head of the Department of Kaumarabhritya, and Prof. Manjusha Rajagopala, Dean of the Faculty of Ayurveda at the University of Delhi and Head of the Department of Shalakya Tantra.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Prashant Kumar Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Kaumarabhritya, who acknowledged the collaborative efforts of both institutions.

AIIA’s Expanding National and Global Footprint

With this latest agreement, AIIA has now signed a total of 74 national and 20 international MoUs, reflecting its growing role as a global hub for Ayurvedic education, research, and innovation. The institute continues to work closely with academic, technological, and healthcare partners to align Ayurveda with contemporary scientific frameworks.
