AIIA Showcases Ayurveda at Official Language Meet

RR Team, February 19, 2026February 19, 2026

The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) marked a significant presence at the All India Official Language Conference held in Agartala, integrating public health outreach with the promotion of Hindi in governance. The event, organised by the Department of Official Language under the Ministry of Home Affairs, brought together representatives from Eastern, North-Eastern and Northern regions to review progress in the implementation of the Official Language policy.

The conference was hosted at the International Indoor Exhibition Centre in Hapania, Agartala, and was graced by Union Home Minister Amit Shah as the Chief Guest. Alongside deliberations on administrative excellence, the event also featured an exhibition showcasing achievements in Official Language implementation across ministries and institutions.

Ayurveda Meets Administrative Platform

In a unique convergence of governance and healthcare, AIIA, under the Ministry of Ayush, organised free health check-ups and consultations for participants and visitors. The initiative was led by Director Prof. (Vaidya) Pradeep Kumar Prajapati, along with a team of senior AYUSH physicians.

The presence of Ayurveda practitioners at a national administrative conference underscored the government’s focus on integrating traditional healthcare systems into mainstream public engagement platforms. The initiative also aligned with the broader vision of promoting preventive healthcare awareness.

Free Health Camps and Medicine Distribution

The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), through its Regional Ayurveda Research Centre in Agartala, collaborated with AIIA to organise medicine distribution and health screening camps. These services were supported technically and clinically by AIIA specialists.

Participants received consultations, Ayurvedic medicines, and guidance on maintaining a balanced lifestyle. The institute also distributed the “Nityasevi Ayur Kit” to encourage daily healthcare practices rooted in Ayurveda.

Special camps for Prakriti Parikshan (body constitution assessment) and Nadi Parikshan (pulse diagnosis) attracted significant interest. These diagnostic approaches, grounded in classical Ayurvedic principles, provided attendees with personalised health insights.

Release of ‘Prameh Yog Sangrah’

A key highlight of the programme was the release of the diabetes-focused Ayurvedic book “Prameh Yog Sangrah.” Authored and edited by Prof. (Vaidya) Rajaram Mahto, the book outlines traditional and practical approaches to managing diabetes through Ayurveda.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah formally released the publication during the event. The book aims to serve as a reference for practitioners and scholars seeking holistic strategies for lifestyle-related disorders.

Senior Doctors Participate in Discussions

Senior AIIA faculty members, including Dean Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Vyas, M.S. Yogesh Badwe, and Dr. Ramakant Yadav, actively participated in the conference. In addition to providing healthcare services, they contributed to discussions and exhibitions focused on Hindi implementation and public engagement.

Secretary, Department of Official Language, Ms. Anshuli Arya, noted that inspired by the ‘Fit India Movement’, AYUSH camps and yoga sessions were organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Ayush. The initiative aimed to connect citizens with India’s traditional knowledge systems while reinforcing public health awareness.

Promoting Preventive Healthcare

Director Prof. (Vaidya) Pradeep Kumar Prajapati described AIIA’s participation as a matter of pride. He emphasised that the institute’s role goes beyond treatment, focusing equally on awareness about preventive healthcare and lifestyle management through Ayurveda.

The conference thus became more than an administrative review forum. It demonstrated how language promotion and public health outreach can be combined to strengthen citizen engagement.

By bringing Ayurveda to a national policy platform, the government showcased its commitment to integrating traditional healthcare with modern governance practices. Further details on the Ministry of Ayush initiatives are available at https://www.ayush.gov.in.

Meaningful Convergence of Policy and Wellness

The All India Official Language Conference in Agartala concluded as a significant example of multi-sectoral collaboration. It highlighted how official language promotion and healthcare awareness can move forward together.

Through active participation, AIIA reinforced the relevance of Ayurveda in contemporary India, linking linguistic empowerment with holistic well-being. The event reflected a broader vision of inclusive governance rooted in cultural and traditional strengths.
