Amit Shah Charts BJP’s Bihar Poll Strategy in Bettiah, Patna

RR Team, September 26, 2025September 27, 2025
Patna: Union Home Minister Amit Shah began his two-day visit to Bihar on Friday, holding a series of meetings in Bettiah and Patna to sharpen the BJP’s poll strategy for the state assembly elections scheduled in November.

Meetings in Bettiah with Grassroots Leaders

Shah first addressed a gathering at the Government Engineering College in Kumarbagh, Bettiah, where he interacted with leaders from 10 organisational districts of Saran and Champaran. The meeting saw the participation of more than 350 party workers, including MPs, MLAs, district presidents, and senior officials.

He urged workers to focus on booth-level, panchayat-level, and district-level voter outreach. Shah highlighted the importance of communicating the achievements of the NDA governments, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Bihar. The emphasis was on ensuring that welfare schemes and development projects are effectively conveyed to the electorate.

Focus on Public Perception and Feedback

Saran MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy shared that Shah conducted a review of public opinion on central government schemes. “He motivated all workers and provided practical tips on how to connect with voters at every level,” Rudy said. The discussion reportedly centered on bridging the gap between policy delivery and public perception in rural areas.

Strategy Session in Patna

Later in the day, Shah moved to Patna for a closed-door strategy session at the BJP state office. The meeting was attended by BJP’s Bihar election incharge Dharmendra Pradhan, general secretary (organisation) B L Santosh, state president Dilip Jaiswal, deputy CMs Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha, along with MPs and MLAs.

The discussions revolved around candidate selection, organisational strength, and refining the party’s overall election approach. Jaiswal described the meeting as a turning point, stating, “Today’s meeting will strengthen the organisation and the NDA for a historic victory in Bihar.”

High Targets for NDA Performance

According to party sources, Shah has already instructed BJP leaders from the Shahabad and Magadh zones to aim for winning at least 80% of the seats in their regions. This directive is aimed at improving NDA’s performance in areas where it underperformed during the 2020 and 2024 elections.

Shah’s strategy reflects a mix of organisational mobilisation and strong messaging on governance. The focus is on amplifying NDA’s achievements in welfare, infrastructure, and social security while countering opposition criticism.

Upcoming Events in Saharsa, Purnia, and Bhagalpur

On Saturday, the Union Home Minister is scheduled to address divisional-level workers’ conferences in Saharsa, Purnia, and Bhagalpur at Araria. These events are expected to further energise the cadre and set the tone for the BJP’s final campaign push ahead of the elections.

Political observers believe Shah’s visit signals the BJP’s intent to run an aggressive, grassroots-driven campaign in Bihar. With the NDA coalition banking on Modi’s popularity and Nitish Kumar’s administrative record, the next few weeks will be critical in shaping voter sentiment.
