In a significant stride toward infrastructure development, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth Rs. 146 crore in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The event, marked by optimism and a vision for progress, was held on the auspicious occasion of Holi, adding a festive spirit to the momentous occasion.
Shri Amit Shah announced key projects that promise to transform the region’s infrastructure. Among them is the construction of a 1 km-long railway overbridge on the Ahmedabad-Viramgam railway track at Sanand-Chekhla-Kadi Road, with an investment of Rs. 60 crore. This initiative is expected to ease traffic congestion and enhance daily commuting for the residents.
Additionally, the foundation stone was laid for a 4-lane bridge over the Narmada Canal on National Highway No. 147 at a cost of Rs. 36.30 crore and a flyover bridge on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar (SG) Highway at Chharodi, with an investment of Rs. 45 crore. These projects are poised to set new benchmarks in the development of the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency, significantly improving connectivity and boosting local businesses and industries.
Expressing gratitude to Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, Shri Amit Shah lauded the state’s efforts in executing numerous development projects worth thousands of crores. He highlighted that Gujarat has emerged as a leader in infrastructure development, thanks to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Under his tenure, the country has witnessed unparalleled progress, surpassing the achievements of the past 70 years.
Shri Shah proudly shared that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India now boasts the second-largest road network, the third-largest metro rail network, and the fourth-largest rail network globally. The length of four-lane highways has increased two and a half times, with an astounding 36.5 kilometers of highways being constructed every day. The number of airports has also risen to 157, reflecting the government’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and promoting economic growth.
The Union Home Minister also announced the establishment of a state-of-the-art 500-bed hospital in Sanand, which will provide round-the-clock healthcare services to the people of Sanand and Bavla talukas. Moreover, a 300-bed government hospital is being constructed in Kalol Taluka, ensuring that quality healthcare facilities are accessible to the residents without having to travel long distances.
Highlighting Gujarat’s achievements, Shri Shah mentioned the world’s largest green energy park in Kutch, Asia’s largest green city in Dholera, and the ambitious Surat-Chennai Expressway, the second-longest highway in the country. He also pointed to the establishment of GIFT City in Ahmedabad, aimed at creating an international financial hub, the launch of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train, and the rapid rail service between Bhuj and Ahmedabad.
These developments reflect the Modi government’s dedication to transforming India’s infrastructure, not just for economic growth but for the betterment of people’s lives.
