Zero-Duty Access Boosts Indian Exports

The India-Oman CEPA provides zero-duty access on 98.08% of Oman’s tariff lines, covering 99.38% of Indian exports. This initiative is expected to create substantial opportunities for India’s hardworking citizens and industries, reflecting a shift in trade diplomacy where the interests of the masses take precedence in global negotiations under PM Modi’s leadership.
Empowering Farmers, Artisans, Women, and MSMEs
Shri Amit Shah emphasized that the agreement aligns with the government’s vision of inclusive growth. By easing market access, CEPA is expected to benefit farmers by facilitating exports of agricultural produce, artisans by expanding handicraft markets, women entrepreneurs, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) seeking global business opportunities.
A Milestone in India’s Trade Diplomacy
The Union Minister highlighted that the India-Oman CEPA showcases India’s proactive and people-centric trade diplomacy. The agreement demonstrates how bilateral partnerships are being leveraged to prioritize domestic stakeholders and ensure that economic benefits reach citizens at the grassroots.
