Amit Shah Targets DMK, Eyes 2026 Win with AIADMK

Amit Shah in Madurai: People Will Defeat DMK in 2026, Not Me

MADURAI, June 8, 2025 – Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a fierce attack on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin during a rally in Madurai. Shah declared that he personally won’t defeat the DMK in the 2026 assembly polls — instead, the people of Tamil Nadu will do it.

“Stalin is right — I won’t defeat DMK”

Amit Shah’s bold statement came as a response to Stalin’s earlier jibe. Shah said:

“Stalin is right. Amit Shah cannot defeat DMK. But the people of Tamil Nadu will ensure its defeat.”

The crowd erupted in applause as Shah backed the BJP-AIADMK alliance, saying Tamil Nadu was ready for change.

He added, “Though I live in Delhi, my ears are always on Tamil Nadu. The BJP-AIADMK alliance will surely win the trust of the people.”

Apology for Not Speaking Tamil

Shah also took a moment to connect with local BJP workers. He expressed regret for not being able to speak Tamil.

“I apologise to all BJP karyakartas in Tamil Nadu. I cannot speak Tamil, one of the greatest languages of India.”

His humility drew cheers from supporters, many of whom appreciated the gesture.

“DMK Government is a Total Failure”

Amit Shah criticized the current DMK government for its alleged failure in governance. He said:

“The DMK regime has failed on every front — corruption, law and order, and development. People are fed up.”

He encouraged the public to reject dynastic politics and support national unity under BJP leadership.

Operation Sindoor: Symbolic Push Against DMK

Before the rally, Shah visited the iconic Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai. This visit wasn’t just spiritual — it had political symbolism.

Tamil Nadu BJP chief Nainar Nagendran described Shah’s visit as part of “Operation Sindoor.”

“Just like Prime Minister Modi’s Operation Sindoor targeted terrorists, Amit Shah’s visit is a silent campaign to remove DMK from power.”

Operation Sindoor was a military strike carried out on May 7, 2025, against terrorist camps in Pakistan. BJP leaders are now using the term to describe their campaign against DMK.

2026: BJP-AIADMK Alliance in Action

This rally signals a major political push by the BJP in Tamil Nadu. The 2026 assembly elections are crucial for the saffron party, which has struggled to break into the southern state’s Dravidian political space.

But Shah sounded hopeful. With AIADMK back as an ally, BJP leaders believe they can make strong inroads.

“We respect Tamil Nadu’s culture and values. BJP wants to work for all — not just one family,” Shah stated.
