Amit Shah to Inaugurate NDDB Nutrition CSR Conclave

In a significant step towards strengthening nutrition security and combating child malnutrition, Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation Shri Amit Shah will inaugurate the National CSR Conclave organised by the NDDB Foundation for Nutrition on January 6 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The conclave aligns with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sahkar se Samriddhi’, highlighting the transformative role of cooperatives in national development.
The event seeks to integrate corporate social responsibility initiatives with India’s cooperative ecosystem to create sustainable, community-driven solutions for malnutrition, especially among children in vulnerable regions.

High-Level Participation Reflects National Priority

The conclave will witness participation from several senior Union Ministers, including Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Women and Child Development Minister Smt Annapurna Devi, and multiple Ministers of State from the Cooperation and allied ministries.

Senior officials from key ministries, along with NDDB Chairman Dr Meenesh Shah and experts from research institutions, public sector undertakings, and dairy cooperatives, will also attend, underscoring the national importance of nutrition security.

Launch of Giftmilk Programme Benefits 4,000 Children

During the conclave, Shri Amit Shah will launch the third phase of the Giftmilk Programme under the CSR initiative of SAIL–Bhilai Steel Plant. The programme will provide flavoured milk fortified with Vitamins A and D to approximately 4,000 children studying in government schools located in the mining-affected areas of Bhilai, Chhattisgarh.

The initiative will be implemented through the Chhattisgarh Milk Federation, managed by NDDB, ensuring both nutritional impact and cooperative participation.

Shishu Sanjeevani to Support Anganwadi Children

Another key highlight of the conclave will be the launch of the Shishu Sanjeevani Programme under the CSR initiative of IDBI Bank. This programme will benefit around 3,000 children enrolled at anganwadi centres in rural areas of Nagpur district, Maharashtra.

Shishu Sanjeevani is a fortified, energy-dense, ready-to-eat nutritional supplement developed by NDDB and manufactured by the Bhandara Milk Union. The programme aims to address early childhood nutrition gaps through scientifically designed food interventions.

Platform for Corporate–Cooperative Collaboration

The conclave will bring together policymakers, corporate leaders, cooperative institutions, scientists, and grassroots beneficiaries on a common platform. The primary objective is to deliberate on innovative and scalable strategies to eradicate malnutrition through sustained partnerships.

Technical sessions will be held on themes such as ‘Nutrition and Health: Malnutrition Eradication through Public Interventions’ and ‘Corporate–Cooperative Collaboration for Nutrition Security’.

Strengthening Sahkar se Samriddhi Vision

With an expected participation of nearly 1,200 delegates from across the country, the conclave represents a concrete step towards aligning cooperative strength with corporate responsibility. It reflects the government’s commitment to inclusive development, where economic growth and social welfare progress hand in hand.

The NDDB Foundation for Nutrition’s initiatives demonstrate how cooperative institutions can serve as effective vehicles for public welfare while supporting national goals of nutrition security and child development.
