Vision of Viksit Keralam & New India
Shri Shah elaborated on the concept of ‘The New India, A New Kerala’, explaining that a Developed Kerala is essential for the vision of a Developed India. He outlined key areas of focus including infrastructure, education, R&D, industrial development, and enhancement of individual income. Shri Shah stressed governance without corruption and delivering results without discrimination, ensuring that every citizen benefits from growth.
Economic Progress & Achievements
The Home Minister highlighted that under PM Modi, India has achieved significant economic milestones, rising from the 11th to the 4th largest global economy within 11 years, and is on track to become the 3rd largest by December 2027. He noted Kerala has received substantial development funding: ₹3.13 lakh crore between 2014–2024, compared to ₹72,000 crore from 2004–2014, including allocations for infrastructure, roads, railways, airports, and urban development initiatives.
Inclusive Growth & Remittance Economy
Shri Shah emphasized the need to move beyond a purely remittance-based economy. While welcoming remittances, he advocated for creating local opportunities in tourism, education, maritime trade, IT, Ayurveda, and high-IQ industries. The Home Minister stressed that development should reflect the participation and benefit of every citizen in Kerala.
Secure Kerala & Governance Reforms
Addressing law and order concerns, Shri Shah pointed to the ban on PFI and questioned the ability of organizations like PFI and Jamaat-e-Islami to maintain unity in Kerala. He stressed the importance of neutral investigations, citing the Sabarimala temple gold theft case as an example where impartiality must be visible. The Home Minister criticized the corruption of alternating state coalitions and pledged transparent governance through his party.
