Amit Shah Welcomes 60K New UP Police Constables

RR Team, June 16, 2025June 15, 2025

A Historic Boost to India’s Largest Police Force

In a landmark event held in Lucknow, Union Home Minister Amit Shah handed over appointment letters to 60,244 newly recruited Civil Police Constables of the Uttar Pradesh Police—the country’s largest police force. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also joined the occasion.

This massive recruitment drive is not just notable for its scale. It also marks a new era of transparency and merit-based selection. “No bribery, no recommendation, no casteism—only pure merit,” Shah stated.

Digital Recruitment: Transparent and Inclusive

Over 48 lakh candidates applied for the positions. From them, more than 60,000 were selected, including over 12,000 women. The entire process used digital platforms, ensuring fairness, speed, and transparency.

Amit Shah hailed this change, calling it a break from old, caste-based, and corrupt practices. He said the new system guarantees equal opportunity for Dalits, backward classes, and tribal communities.

“Goons must fear the police. But the poor must see them as saviours,” Shah said.

Security, Service, Sensitivity: The New Values

The newly inducted constables are expected to follow three guiding principles:

  • Security – Keep law and order strong and active

  • Service – Serve citizens with honesty and dedication

  • Sensitivity – Treat people with empathy and respect, especially the poor and marginalized

Amit Shah called this moment a part of ‘Amrit Kaal’, where New India builds strong, ethical police forces aligned with the vision of a developed India by 2047.

Yogi-Modi Era: A Model for Law and Order

Shah praised the UP Government for bringing down crime rates and restoring order. Under PM Modi’s reforms and CM Yogi’s enforcement, the state has changed.

“Once known for riots, Uttar Pradesh is now largely riot-free,” Shah said. Tools like CCTNS, ICJS, NAFIS, and forensic units are helping deliver faster justice—from FIR to Supreme Court—in under three years.

Crushing Naxalism and Terror

Shah said Naxalism, once spread across 11 states, now survives in only three districts. He promised its complete elimination by March 2026.

Referring to the surgical strike (Uri), air strike (Pulwama), and Operation Sindoor (Poonch), Shah underlined the government’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism.

“Terror hideouts no longer roar; they collapse under India’s might,” he said.

Empowering Citizens Through Governance

Shah said 25 crore Indians have risen above the poverty line under the Modi government. He listed welfare programs like:

  • Toilets under Swachh Bharat

  • Gas cylinders via Ujjwala Yojana

  • Clean drinking water

  • Free Ayushman Bharat healthcare

  • ₹6,000/year to farmers through PM-Kisan

Women’s safety, cultural revival (Ram Mandir, Kashi Vishwanath, Somnath Temple), and social justice (Triple Talaq abolition, UCC in Uttarakhand) were also highlighted as major steps.

Conclusion

This large, merit-based recruitment drive signals a powerful shift in India’s approach to policing. It reflects a system that values transparency, professionalism, and public service. As Shah concluded, “The rule of law must replace the rule of fear.” These new recruits are now responsible for turning that vision into action.
